Update: Will split content onto 2 Domains

My personal ramblings and the stuff i professionally care about, are both sported here, on this domain. But many of my friends who come here, are just dazzled by the tech talk, and leave. No cool.

To stop everybody leaving, i will go on and post my personal & fun stuff here, and post about everything graphical, typographical & æsthetical at my old site GRAPHICREW.COM from very on shortly (have to re-activate the domain).
Graphicrew. About design, typography and aesthetics.

EDIT: Yeah, it takes some time, i am not really in heavy work mode these days.

My parley: First and last take on Vista

Today a mate came by and asked me to help him with his new laptop. I usually try to deny such nasty requests, because they almost always end up in a parley about the benefits of Mac OS X over Windows. And those parleys usually end up nowhere, because the one who choose Windows in the first place, is some kind of dork anyways. Arrr!

So, he wanted to use Audacity (a free tool to record and edit audio) to capture the sound of some videos he saw on YouTube. What a grand idiot i thought, even my boss can do that. But unfortunately, it was not possible to select the correct input source in Audacity. The human stain, also known as Bill Gates, decided to disable that for us. The onboard soundcard on the laptops intel chip shows no wave-out source. Obviously this was not ment for greater user experience, but to take the last possible option to re-record an DRM crippled track the analog way, by capturing the soundcards wave-out signal.

I don’t understand, why there is still a shitload of dumpsterheads out there, who is still buying the Windows Scheisse. Apple is not heaven, and OS X is not the virgin Mary either, but heck! — it is a lot easier to live and work with.

I just had to get this out of my head. If you wan’t to get rid of our vista copy, just attach it to an email and send it to spam@manuelmartensen.com and i will trash it for you.
