No, the Keynote was super!

About the Apple press conference (Macworld Keynote) today and it’s news:

The new Macbook Air is expensive if you compare it with an ordinary laptop. But that’s perfectly fair. Why should this luxus laptop be cheap like an “ordinary” MacBook? Because we feel almost like friends to Steve Jobs and his company, because he is such a charismatic guy? It is luxus for fucks sake!

MacBook Air Thinnovation

Why the jammering over the 5 new iPod touch applications not being for free? Since when is additional software for free? It is only free when someone makes money with it, like with the Apple TV 2 upgrade (which is free).

The Rental news is nothing that let’s me cry tears of joy now because i can’t profit from it today, but it will be a profit for me, and for you soon: Who wrote that open letter about music DRM? Apple did. And now we have Amazon mp3 DRM-free music with all major labels. And it didn’t took 10 years! Thanks for that!

In six month, when everybody can see how many movies got rented from the Apple Movie Store and after everybody could see how simple and easy it can be done, it will start to be a absolutly normal thing to rent your movie online. And more companies will follow and it will get better because of their competition.

This was again, again, just the beginning of something greater.

Sure there is Netflix who do practically the same, but Netflix is not Apple. Apple has a name and is know for dumbass easy to understand UI design. People like my dad will be able to rent a movie online! It will become common to do that.

Those movie rentals are not cheap either, but do you drive to your local video store (remember, you drive 2 times for one movie: get it & return it) just to save 3 or 4 bucks? You might should, but you won’t.

Rental was just the beginning. Paying 20 € or 20 $ for a new DVD will be history soon as well, just watch. A lot of people who followed the conference with me found it disappointing. But i know: This Keynote was super!
