Update: Will split content onto 2 Domains

My personal ramblings and the stuff i professionally care about, are both sported here, on this domain. But many of my friends who come here, are just dazzled by the tech talk, and leave. No cool.

To stop everybody leaving, i will go on and post my personal & fun stuff here, and post about everything graphical, typographical & æsthetical at my old site GRAPHICREW.COM from very on shortly (have to re-activate the domain).
Graphicrew. About design, typography and aesthetics.

EDIT: Yeah, it takes some time, i am not really in heavy work mode these days.

Layer Tennis eve’ — Disappointing!

If you have watched tonite’s game of Layer Tennis, you might know what i am speaking of. First half semmed to me like a battle between copywriters instead of layer/graphic artists and who is the most skilled copypaster of pre-prepped work.

I must add: i have nothing against using your archive (pre-prepped stuff like i called it), but i think it should somehow stay in focus with the theme (what’s between the lines) of the match and should be incorporated or remixed into the existing work, not just be placed as a new topmost layer.

Vector tennis goes to canada!

Well, i wrote this before the winner got announced, but whatever, it is official now.

She made it, she hosed him. Sorry, but it really was touching, all that “Battle of the Sexes” references. Congrats to Vit as well for a great match — i liked volley 8. Good fun and good friday.

Congrats Marian! “Too much talk, not enough skill” — was that a reference as well? ;–)

Layer Tennis Illustrator Fights!

Just wanted to remind (or inform) you that tonights Layer Tennis match will be held entirely on the Adobe Illustrator court! That’s right, no pixel throwing this time, only vectors. Me is hooked already! Fuck the MTV Awards on high rotation.

To quote myself: “A mathematical death-match between two aesthetics.”

So you get an idea: Following image shows the drop dead beautiful ornament font (“which happens to contain letterforms”) called Restraint, by Marian Bantjes, one of the contestants. Canada for president!
